About KDIKarate Do Ireland began in 1984 as Ballyfermot Shotokan Karate Club, founded by Sensei Benny Thackaberry and Sensei Stephen Murray, evolving into Karate Do Ireland in the year 2000.
We have two clubs,
At KDI we practise the Shotokan style of Japanese Karate, both traditional and sports karate.
Our instructors are not only trained in karate but have all completed coaching training run by the Irish Sports Council and refereeing and judging courses.

We generally take children from the ages of 6 and up
It can be intimidating to start in a class with children, so we fast track adults to the senior class.
